Explore the role and qualifications
Lead the work from an ambiguous business problem to a working, supportable system. Partner with clients, coordinate agent-powered engineering, and remain accountable for the architecture and delivery decisions along the way.
What you’ll do.
- Lead client discovery, map operational workflows, and translate business goals into requirements, architecture, and acceptance criteria.
- Scope solutions and contribute technical input to proposals. This is a delivery leadership role, not quota-carrying sales.
- Design and build agent-enabled systems, integrations, and orchestration with clear human oversight and accountability.
- Design for availability and scale, including resilient services, failure recovery, observability, and capacity planning.
- Stay hands-on with implementation, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure, and production readiness.
- Help shape repeatable engineering standards and delivery practices as the company grows.
What you’ll bring.
- 15+ years in software engineering and technology delivery, including substantial architecture and client-facing leadership experience.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable systems supporting millions of users, with ownership of a significant architecture or delivery area.
- Hands-on AI and agentic engineering skills, including agent orchestration and the judgment to decide where human involvement belongs.
- Strong software architecture, systems integration, cloud delivery, testing, and CI/CD skills.
- The ability to explain tradeoffs to business leaders, turn ambiguity into a delivery plan, and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Residence in the Houston, Austin, or Dallas area and availability for local in-person client meetings as needed.
Useful experience. Not a checklist.
Azure, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph, Python, TypeScript, SQL, and infrastructure as code. You don’t need every tool—or a previous VP or CIO title—to bring principal-level expertise.
